Every now and then, its nice to indulge. But, if I’m going to do so, may as well put the effort into making themself. Therefore, brownies. Here’s how:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1 cup chocolate chips or chunks
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 175°C. Grease some baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Melt the Butter:
- In a medium-sized saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat once melted.
- Mix Sugar and Eggs:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar and eggs. Beat well until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
- Add Vanilla and Melted Butter:
- Stir in the vanilla extract into the sugar and egg mixture. Then, gradually add the melted butter, mixing well.
- Combine Dry Ingredients:
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Add Chocolate Chips:
- sprinkle some chocolate chips or chunks into the batter.
- Transfer to Baking Pan:
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
- Cool:
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan on a wire rack. Once completely cooled, you can cut them into squares.
Alas, this was great to make and always come back to this recipe when feeling indulgent. 10/10
